Pets > Nurse Clinics
If your pet has broken a limb and is not a candidate for surgical correction or you have chosen to go for bandaging, your pet will need regular bandage checks. We like to leave a supportive bandage on and untouched for as long as possible, but bandages can slip or get wet or chewed off! To ensure that a bandage is doing what it is meant to, we like to check bandages weekly or fortnightly. Sometimes it can be a quick check, but other times the whole bandage may need to be removed and replaced. At the time of the first bandaging, you will be given an appointment for your next bandage check and a bandage care leaflet. Wounds may need to be checked and cleaned or redressed regularly depending on the severity. You will be advised of the frequency of wound checks at every visit.
