Pets > Nurse Clinics
People don't realise what effect the condition their pet's teeth could have on their overall health. Not only is it unpleasent for us, the owner, having to put up with their bad breath, but it is very uncomfortable for them. The accumulation of plaque and tartar on the teeth will more often than not lead to gingivitis (inflammation of the gums). If left untreated, it can also lead to peridontal disease and a harsh infection that can spread around the body.
We cannot forget our rabbits and guinea pigs either. The often get over grown inscisors due to malalignment of the jaw. Sometimes, no amount of raw carrots and other chews will prevent these constantly growing teeth to stay short. These teeth will need to be clipped if too long.
Free dental clinics are available to all pets. The nurse will be able to assess if your pet needs treatment and book him/her in for a dental descale and polish and extractions if necessary. She will also be able to advise you on teeth cleaning procedures and devise a dental care program that you and your pet can follow to maintain a healthy mouth.
